Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Indiana to build and maintain relationships with local contractors and builders. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage the ongoing relationship, and grow the customer base.

Expect active field work, site visits, and collaboration with yard and dispatch teams. Salary plus commission with uncapped earning potential; strong communication, planning, and product knowledge are essential for

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Find and close sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with local contractors and builders.
• Manage each sold job and maintain customer relationships.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain up-to-date customer information.
• Keep schedules and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.
