Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Indiana to build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage ongoing projects, and cultivate long-term customer partnerships.

The role emphasizes sales strategy, frequent communication, and the ability to read blueprints, prepare estimates, and open new accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales
• Knowledge of home building basics
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take offs
• Ability to work independently
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage that job and maintain the relationship after sale.
• Visit job sites as needed, maintain schedules, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collect and keep up-to-date information on customers’ product use and trends.
