Johnson Controls, Inc. in the Phoenix metro area is seeking a field-based Technical Sales Specialist for Fire Alarm/Life Safety systems.

You will partner with local sales teams, engineers, architects, and customers to shape technical solutions and guide customers toward compliant, practical system recommendations. The role emphasizes on-site customer visits, value engineering, and strong product knowledge across Simplex/Autocall platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience with Simplex or Autocall products.
• Experience in the Fire Detection industry.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Residency within the assigned Boston market territory is required.
• Ability to perform on-site customer visits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical pre-sales support for Fire Alarm/Life Safety System sales in the Phoenix market.
• Review system proposals to confirm function and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Assist sales with customer facility surveys and protection needs assessments.
• Develop quotations, scopes of work, and cost estimates with internal teams.
• Deliver demos and presentations of Johnson Controls equipment to diverse audiences.
• Coordinate bid schedules and contractor coordination with Sales and Installation teams.
• Support newer sales reps by strengthening product knowledge and confidence.
• Provide guidance on fire and life safety regulations and codes.
