Job summary

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Field Sales Engineer I to drive sales of analytical instrument portfolios in the Portland, Salem, and Eugene area. You will build long-lasting customer relationships, provide expert guidance, and identify growth opportunities across chemical manufacturing, pharma, environmental, and academic sectors.

As a trusted advisor, you will meet or exceed sales targets, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel up to 50% to support accounts and trade

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a life science discipline; Chemistry strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience with analytical instruments.
• Experience with chromatography, mass spectrometry, or spectroscopy.
• Proficient in CRM systems for pipeline management.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize new client opportunities; manage and grow existing accounts.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
• Provide consultative support and product guidance to customers.
• Deliver technical presentations and represent Shimadzu at trade shows and industry events.
• Coordinate with field application specialists to deliver technical solutions.
