Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Field Support Engineer for RTS to provide on-site support for advanced robotics systems, perform hardware audits, and troubleshoot deployments. You will collaborate with RME teams to optimize performance and design tools to reduce downtime while implementing proactive monitoring and maintenance programs.

The role demands independent judgment in a fast-paced environment with high throughput. Travel up to 50% is expected to cover multiple sites within the US region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related STEM field.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma tools, Lean techniques, PMP or similar standards preferred.
• Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
• Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for new product deployments, upgrades, hardware audits, and troubleshooting for advanced robotics systems.
• Partner with site-level RME teams to maximize system performance.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve mechanical and system issues across the RTS product suite.
• Design/implement electro-mechanical tools, fixtures, and diagnostics to minimize downtime.
• Develop proactive monitoring tools to measure safety, reliability, and performance of robotics systems.
• Create escalation processes, SOPs, and preventative maintenance protocols.
• Design and lead training sessions for on-site RME teams.
• Develop/implement spare parts management systems.
• Produce performance reports and voice of the customer feedback to development/support teams.
• Up to 50% travel expected.
