Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe (NATCAT) Field Claims Specialist to respond to major disaster events nationwide, including hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. You will travel to impacted areas up to 80% to assess damage, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

The role emphasizes hands-on inspections, complex claim resolution, and collaboration with Special Investigations and Subrogation units.

Qualifications

• Experience in field/property claims handling, including catastrophe environments.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and prior estimate writing.
• Ability to manage claims from start to finish with varying complexity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and provide timely updates to customers.
