Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe Field Claims Specialist to respond to major events across the country, assessing damage and guiding policyholders through the claims process with empathy and expertise.

Travel will be heavy (up to 80%), with on-site inspections, complex claim handling, and collaboration with Special Investigations and Subrogation as needed. Requires CAT experience and Xactimate proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in property claims handling, including catastrophe environments.
• Ability to write estimates and determine policy coverage using Xactimate.
• Proven track record of handling complex claims from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards and provide updates to customers.
