Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe (NATCAT) Field Claims Specialist II to respond to major disaster events nationwide. You will travel up to 80% to inspect properties, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy and precision.

You will manage the full lifecycle of claims, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure compliance and timely resolutions in CAT environments.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• State licensing where required and claims certification coursework.
• Three to five years of related property claims experience.
• CAT environment experience preferred.
• Must be able to safely access and inspect rooftops using a ladder.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving and documentation.
• Partner with internal teams to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
• Provide timely updates to customers and maintain high-quality service.
