Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Field Project Manager to lead installation, programming, start-up, and training on fire, security, and building automation projects in Columbia, MD. You will manage schedules and budgets, supervise field staff and subcontractors, and ensure quality installations that meet codes and customer expectations.

The role emphasizes customer-focused service, strong leadership, and the ability to grow with a culture that values collaboration and integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience in building automation, fire alarm & life safety, and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong field supervision skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget and scope.
• Supervises Project Specialists, Installers and subcontractors in the field.
• Coordinates and supervises subcontractors on-site activities and quality assurance.
• Assists in coordinating projects and suggests changes to improve customer satisfaction.
• Installs, programs, tests, and services systems (fire, security, building automation).
• Identifies and mitigates project risks to minimize cost overruns and delays.
