Job summary

Convergint is seeking a field Project Manager in Columbia, MD to lead installation, programming, startup, and training on fire, security, and building automation projects. You will manage on-site teams, coordinate with the project coordinator, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within contract scope.

You thrive under pressure, mentor technicians, read blueprints, and maintain quality per codes, while delivering excellent customer service and training to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or trade school equivalent.
• Experience in electronic, fire alarm, life safety, or building automation industries.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees site management for on-time, within-budget project completion.
• Supervises technicians and subcontractors in field.
• Coordinates with Project Coordinator to plan installation.
• Identifies risks and helps minimize cost and schedule deviations.
• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services systems (fire, security, life safety, building automation).
• Delivers customer training and ensures satisfaction.
• Maintains quality per codes and company standards.
