Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in delivering work that meets plans and specifications. The role requires relocation to the project site, with relocation not reflecting the site location.

You will review plans, assist in bidding, coordinate schedules, and communicate with architects and subcontractors to ensure timely, compliant project execution. Strong communication and blueprint-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or internship preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document and present information clearly.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints; knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers to ensure work installed meets plan and specification requirements.
• Review plans, shop drawings, and submittals for constructability and value.
• Publish weekly progress reports and maintain project schedules.
• Assist in bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Coordinate field procedures, testing, and installation of structural elements.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and report unsafe activities.
