Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in delivering work that complies with plans and specifications. This on-site role requires relocation to project locations nationwide.

You will review drawings, assist with bidding, help prepare schedules, and coordinate meetings, submittals, and safety procedures. A construction management degree or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor, or internship, preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work installed meets plans and specifications.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals; checks constructability and value implications.
• Prepares and updates project schedules with milestones and shop drawing dates.
• Coordinates meetings, distributes minutes, and tracks action items.
• Supports bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Monitors safety practices and reports unsafe activities.
