Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in ensuring installations meet plans and specifications on a national project site. The role requires relocation to the project site, with the stated location reflecting the project site, not the candidate's current location.

You will review drawings, coordinate with architects and subcontractors, and track progress through weekly reports and updated schedules, enabling on-time project delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project drawings.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools and construction management software.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work meets plans and specifications.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals for accuracy.
• Communicates constructability and value considerations to the architect/team.
• Creates weekly progress reports and distributes meeting minutes.
• Updates project schedules and tracks milestones for timely completion.
• Assists in bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Coordinates shop drawings, material lists, and samples with field teams.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures.
