Job summary

WM is seeking a disciplined Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, development, and coaching for drivers and helpers. The role requires frequent field presence and building strong relationships with frontline staff.

You will supervise performance, ensure safety, and drive best practices while maintaining regulatory records and collaborating with customers to resolve issues. This entry path emphasizes growth into WM operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years relevant frontline supervisory experience or completion of WM Operations Manager Trainee program.
• Associate degree or equivalent; or HS diploma with relevant work experience and eligibility to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding, development and coaching of drivers and helpers.
• Conduct daily check-ins with new frontline employees.
• Provide timely feedback and support for onboarding and performance.
• Review best practices to improve daily frontline performance.
• Advance frontline career goals and address improvement opportunities.
• Lead safety training and enforce WM safety standards.
• Document and maintain regulatory records (e.g., DOT-related).
• Inspect route operations records (DVIRs, attendance, open tickets).
• Visit customers to resolve safety issues or propose service alternatives.
