Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager Trainee to onboard, develop, coach, and mentor drivers and helpers. The role spends most of the day in the field, building strong relationships with frontline staff to drive safety and performance.

Responsibilities include coaching conversations, root-cause investigations for injuries, and ensuring regulatory documentation is up to date. This position blends office and field work across routes and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma (accredited) and two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor and manage performance of all drivers and helpers.
• Spend the majority of the day in the field with frontline employees.
• Ensure safety practices are paramount for every employee.
• Lead by example and teach the WM Way, including reporting and root cause investigations for injuries.
• Review documentation related to route operations daily and address issues with frontline staff.
• Visit customers and sites to evaluate safety issues and explore service alternatives.
