Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of drivers and helpers. This role spends the majority of time in the field with frontline staff and builds positive relationships across the team, starting work between 2-5am.

The position supervises 15-20 drivers, emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with customers, while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of route operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or high school diploma with two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Driver's License valid upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage drivers and helpers.
• Maintain positive relationships with frontline employees and spend most time in the field.
• Oversee safety practices and root-cause investigations for injuries/incidents.
• Review route operations documentation daily (DVIRs, attendance, tickets) and follow up.
• Visit customer sites to evaluate safety issues and propose service alternatives.
