Job summary

Asplundh is seeking a Foreperson to drive daily utility crew operations in Houston, TX. You will plan, assign, and supervise field work, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with management on hiring/training needs.

A CDL is required, and you will mentor staff while ensuring customer satisfaction. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, efficient crew management, and adherence to DOT and OSHA protocols, with competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to adapt to field requirements and act independently without close supervision.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Ability to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight capacity restriction: employee weight should not exceed ~300 pounds.
• No fear of heights.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining for crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies; conducts safety training.
• Communicates with property owners/customers about access, outages, and work scope; refers complex cases to supervisor.
• Obtains oral or written permission from property owners to perform work.
• Promotes good customer relations through effective completion of tasks and proper crew conduct.
• May investigate minor incidents/damage claims and settle accordingly.
• Maintains accurate records, timesheets, and crew performance reports.
• Controls crew costs through efficient use of manpower, methods, and equipment.
