Job summary

Asplundh is seeking a Foreperson to lead daily field operations, coordinate crew activities, enforce safety, and liaise with property owners. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to adapt in the field. Must possess a valid CDL and be willing to travel for storm work.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, offering competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Must understand drawings and symbols for lines, voltages, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and multitasking.
• Ability to adapt to field requirements and act independently.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Physical ability to perform required tasks including overhead work.
• Weight should not exceed approximately 300 pounds due to equipment.
• No fear of heights; willing to travel for storm work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and assign daily crew work from orders.
• Conduct field training and retraining for crew.
• Enforce safety practices per policy and OSHA standards.
• Coordinate with property owners about access and work scope; obtain permissions.
• Maintain customer relations through professional conduct.
• Investigate incidents and minor damage claims as needed.
• Maintain crew records, timesheets, and reports.
• Control crew costs and optimize methods and equipment usage.
• Provide reports to foremen and utility reps on completed work.
• Periodically report on incidents, breakdowns, etc.
• Coordinate with police/fire during street blockages.
• Set up barriers and signage to protect workers/public.
• Ensure tools, trucks, and equipment are maintained.
• Maintain housekeeping on truck and site.
• Ensure DOT maintenance/inspections on vehicles.
• Stay informed on equipment specs and company policies.
