Job summary

Asplundh Careers seeks a Foreperson to lead daily field operations, coordinate crew tasks, and enforce safety standards on job sites. You will train staff, liaise with management, and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA guidelines while maintaining strong customer relations.

The role requires CDL, the ability to travel for storm work, and readiness to handle physical tasks and leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have previous line clearance experience.
• Requires the understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Must have organization skills and be able to multi-task.
• Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Due to the capacity of existing equipment, weight of the employee should not exceed approximately 300 pounds.
• Must have no fear of heights.
• Must be able to travel for storm work

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving/interpreting orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies; conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power interruption, and work scope with property owners; refers controversial cases.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Promotes good customer relations through effective completion of assigned work.
• Investigates incidents/damage claims and settles minor claims.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports on crew performance.
• Controls crew costs and allocation of resources.
• Furnishes reports on orders completed and incidents as needed.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments for safety.
• Sets up barriers and signals to protect workers and the public.
• Inspects and arranges repairs to tools, trucks, and equipment.
