Job summary

WM Transportation is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of drivers and helpers. The role spends substantial time in the field, building strong relationships with frontline employees and ensuring safe, efficient daily operations.

You will conduct regular coaching conversations, review routes and safety practices, and document compliance with Department of Transportation requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have either Associate's Degree or High School Diploma with two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Driver's License valid upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for drivers and helpers.
• Spend the majority of time in the field with frontline employees to provide instruction and feedback.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with frontline staff and ensure safety-focused practices.
• Review and improve daily operations, routes, and safety procedures; lead by example in WM Way principles.
• Conduct coaching conversations and monitor career progression of frontline employees.
• Document regulatory compliance and incident investigations; support retraining as needed.
