Job summary

WM is seeking an Onboarding and Development Manager to lead coaching, mentoring, and performance management for drivers and helpers. You will spend most days in the field, building strong relationships with frontline teams and upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include onboarding, daily check-ins, continuous improvement, DOT record maintenance, and occasional customer-site safety visits to address issues and improve service quality.

Qualifications

• Onboarding and coaching experience with frontline staff.
• Ability to manage performance and development of drivers and helpers.
• Knowledge of safety practices and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage performance of drivers and helpers.
• Meet daily with new frontline employees to support onboarding.
• Provide timely touchpoints and monitor daily performance.
• Review best practices to improve daily operations.
• Support frontline career goals and address improvement opportunities.
• Lead coaching conversations and promote WM Way safety culture.
• Conduct root-cause investigations for injuries/incidents and retraining.
• Maintain DOT records and other regulatory documentation.
• Review route operation documentation daily and follow up as needed.
• Visit customers/sites to resolve safety issues and explore alternatives.
