Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting. You will work with a team to diagnose issues, manage parts, and document repairs using TRAIT on an iOS device.

The role requires a HS diploma/GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, and DOT/FMCSA compliance knowledge. Travel is 100% with a day shift; benefits are offered by Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE certification T8 within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance required.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and 3-year MVR review.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and perform repairs on electrical, brakes, cooling, engines and transmissions.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck tools; document RO details using TRAIT on iOS.
• Coordinate with management for repair approvals and PO numbers; ensure safety compliance.
