Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and field repairs for light to heavy-duty vehicles. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, perform trailer repairs, and road-test vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.

Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED with related experience, possess hand tools, and obtain ASE T8 within 18 months. DOT screening and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess hand tools and ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card or four months remaining acceptable for submission.
• Must be at least 21 years old with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy trucks in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect trailers and perform repairs on trailers, brakes, air lines, and liftgates.
• Road test vehicles and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Maintain parts inventory and document work orders with RO uploads.
