Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II (DOT) to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to moderate repairs on trucks in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, document findings in the TRAIT app, manage parts and tools, and ensure OSHA/DOT compliance.

This role requires 21+ years, a valid driver’s license, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and offers weekly pay with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Valid driver’s license; 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling systems, engines, and drive train components.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck; document RO notes via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory policies.
