Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile field setting. You will diagnose, test, and repair diesel systems, electronics, and hydraulics while maintaining safety and productivity.

You will manage parts on the service truck, document work via the TRAIT app, and communicate with customers to ensure timely service. ASE T8 readiness and DOT compliance are required within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years related experience, or alternative combinations with higher education or 5 years experience.
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
• Must pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background check and DOT physical prior to employment.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, engines, transmissions, andclutches.
• Diagnose and repair various truck equipment such as electrical systems, air conditioning, engine electronics, and driveline components.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld test instruments and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and operate the company vehicle, including safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
