Job summary

Walbridge is seeking an IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support at the project site, ensuring smooth operation of Windows-based systems and hardware. The role requires on-site work in Van Buren Township, MI, with travel and 4–6 weeks of training in Detroit, MI.

You will deploy and configure desktops and peripherals, support new hires, and assist with network setup and IT project initiatives. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus technical training or professional IT experience.
• 3+ years of commercial IT support in a Windows environment, including remote support.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows OS.
• Experience documenting all work in a ticketing system.
• Experience transferring user data to new laptops.
• Strong hardware knowledge and general network familiarity.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills quickly.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Willing to travel out of state and stay overnight as needed.
• Willing to train in Detroit, MI for 4–6 weeks.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 Windows 11 support and troubleshooting.
• Deploy desktops, laptops, and peripherals; install standard business apps.
• Prepare and provision workstations for new hires.
• Support adoption of new technologies and pilot deployments.
• Assist with basic network setup and VPN access.
• Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services.
• Deliver end-user training and guidance to improve productivity.
