Job summary

The Proactive Technology Group is seeking a Field Technician based in Midtown Manhattan to service client sites across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, with occasional travel to Greenvale, NY. You will spend roughly 50% of your time in the field delivering in-person IT support and solving technical issues.

You’ll provide onsite and remote Level 1/2 support, troubleshoot workstations, Microsoft 365, printers, basic servers, and network problems.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in the field.
• Clear communication with end users and internal technical teams.
• Organized, reliable and detail-oriented with documentation discipline.
• Ability to balance reactive support with scheduled onsite tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Level 1/2 support for client environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with workstations, Microsoft 365, printers and basic server software.
• Manage network connectivity, wireless and firewall-related concerns.
• Travel to client sites for remediation, deployment and installation work.
• Support workstation setups, onboarding/offboarding, and office IT moves.
• Assist with network equipment installations and basic server upgrades.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers and document findings in IT systems.
