Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Wichita, KS seeks a desktop support specialist to install and maintain Windows systems, manage assets, and provide break-fix support across office and plant environments. The ideal candidate has experience with SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policy, plus strong communication skills and willingness to work off-hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Computer Science is required.
• Experience with OS installation using SCCM, anti-spyware, anti-virus, and software.
• Proficiency in desktop support including current Windows operating systems.
• Hardware support including laptops, printers, desktops, and telephony equipment.
• Experience with asset refresh, procurement, asset maintenance and inventory control.
• Ability to lift/move equipment up to 30 kg.
• Willingness to provide off-hours support including weekends.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• ITIL concepts preferred; MCSE or MCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer break-fix support for designated equipment in office/plant environments and campus.
• Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware and peripherals.
• Document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems.
• Ensure clear written and verbal communication; manage service calls and administrative tasks.
• Accept and deliver all assigned service calls; manage asset control and inventory return.
• Install wires/cables and test wiring to meet specifications; perform backup tape replacement.
• Provide executive support and assist procurement; support remote and local locations as required.
• Support infrastructure projects (small projects) locally within the location.
