Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an HR Specialist - Field to support HR administration, company processes and compliance across the Irving, Texas area.

You will work closely with the HR Director and HR Business Partner to ensure effective HR support and data integrity in Workday. Responsibilities include processing Workday transactions, audits, and exit interviews, plus assisting leadership with HR programs, training, and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• 2 years administrative or relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
• SHRM and/or PHR certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of HR support to the Division and HR Director.
• Administer HR processes and company policies; maintain compliance with regulations.
• Process Workday transactions, audits, and issue resolution.
• Support performance appraisals, peak season hiring, and learning/development.
• Assist with employee relations issues and confidentiality.
• Generate ad hoc reports and assist with organizational charts.
