Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Compensation Analyst in Irving, TX to analyze and administer core compensation programs, support market surveys, and ensure fair pay practices across locations.

The role partners with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to review offers, conducts audits, and maintains compensation data in Workday. Strong Excel skills and 2–4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS, BA, or graduate degree in business (or equivalent work experience).
• Proficient in Excel.
• 2-4 years of related Compensation experience in HR.

Responsibilities

• Market pricing, salary administration and FLSA assessments to determine salary grades and ranges.
• Complete survey submissions for annual and ad hoc market surveys and use results for salary planning and structures.
• Monitor and implement federal, state/local minimum wage changes to ensure compliance across locations.
• Provide competitive, equitable compensation recommendations for Retail Store offers.
• Conduct internal equity audits and weekly compensation audits for compliance.
• Assist in maintaining compensation data in Workday and related systems.
• Generate ad-hoc reports and analytics on pay performance and changes.
• Assist with variable pay programs such as Bonus, Merit, and Commission plans.
