Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Generator Service Technician to plan field work with the Service Manager, travel to residential sites, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on whole home standby generators (Generac). You will read manuals and electrical diagrams, troubleshoot, and update our software with service details.

The role requires safety-first practices and frequent outdoor work. The schedule is typically Mon-Fri 8 AM–5 PM, with possible changes for weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Electrical certification a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Technicians will be provided with a daily workload of service/maintenance calls to perform on the Generac generators.
• Ability to drive company vehicles safely to/from customer’s residence within and surrounding area / job site.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services that are performed using an electronic software system.
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Fill out all paperwork and document maintenance work that was completed.
• Qualified technicians will perform diagnostics and repairs on backup power systems.
