Job summary

Generator Supercenter is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to repair and maintain whole-home standby generators at customers’ residences. You will travel using a company vehicle, communicate clearly with customers, and follow detailed manuals and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

You will work Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm, with schedule adjustments for weather or emergencies. The role demands safety-conscious technicians with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
• Reading and comprehension skills to understand manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair.
• Experience with electrical wiring.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' residences using company vehicle.
• Communicate with customers regarding arrival and work performed.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home standby generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services in the electronic system.
• Adhere to safety practices and requirements.
• May be assigned additional duties.
