Job summary

The Generator Mechanic/Service Technician at Generator Supercenter of Waco travels to customers’ residences using a company vehicle to perform repair work and preventive maintenance on whole home standby generators. You will read manuals and diagrams and communicate clearly with customers about services performed.

Schedule is typically Mon-Fri 8 am–5 pm, with occasional changes for weather; candidates should have strong mechanical/electrical repair skills, a valid driver's license, and the

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
• Reading and comprehension skills are required to understand technical manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Must be able to drive company vehicles to each job site.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Using company vehicle – travel to customer’s residence
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services are performed using an electronic software system
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Along with the duties above, other duties may be assigned.
