Generator Supercenter, Inc. is hiring a Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair whole-home standby generators at residential sites.

Travel is required in a company vehicle, with a focus on accurate diagnostics, clear customer communication, and safe operation. The role emphasizes mechanical and electrical repair experience, especially with small engines, standby generators, or ATS technology.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform job duties (climbing ladders, lifting, outdoor work).
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and recommendations.
• Document all work in the service management software.
• Follow safety protocols when working around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages.
