Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Manager, Field Engineering for Startups to lead a team of Solutions Architects. You will hire, train, and grow the group, partner with Sales, and drive revenue while ensuring customer success.

You will maintain a strong hiring pipeline, stay ahead of the Databricks tech stack, and engage executives to align GTM strategy with aggressive targets; a deep background in data platforms and generative AI is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data with a technical product such as data warehousing, big data, ML, or AI.
• Proven track record hiring, onboarding, coaching, and growing high-performing pre-sales teams.
• Trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Lead best practices for technical qualification, validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Establish and foster partnerships with systems integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).
• Strong understanding of consumption-based business models and long-term growth.

• Hire, train, and grow a team of Solutions Architects.
• Make customers extremely successful with Databricks' platform.
• Maintain a robust hiring pipeline of qualified candidates.
• Establish relationships across the business to enable customer and team success.
• Keep the SA team ahead of the technical curve with advanced knowledge of the Databricks technology stack.
• Ensure the team learns and delivers comprehensive solutions for customers.
• Engage with customers at the Executive level to drive outcomes and GTM strategy toward aggressive sales targets.
