Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Field Engineer to serve as a primary technical resource for major industrial electrical construction projects.

You will review and manage contract requirements, develop job plans, and ensure proper documentation and safety practices on site. Responsibilities include coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and field management, performing material take-offs, and using CAD/3-D tools to design layouts.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Design.
• 1–3 years of related construction experience.
• Strong proficiency with spreadsheets and database software.
• Superior computer operating skills; willingness to learn new technologies.
• Clear written and verbal communication with project staff.

Responsibilities

• Review, understand, and administer contract requirements focusing on construction documents, field orders, change orders, and close-out documents.
• Develop and implement job-specific plans covering safety, scheduling, document control, cost codes, materials, and tooling.
• Maintain project daily reports and paperwork (Daily Journals, RFIs, timesheets, purchase orders, etc.).
• Perform material take-offs and coordinate submittals with Purchasing.
• Design and layout raceways and cable tray systems using CAD and 3-D modeling.
