Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Field Engineer who thrives in quality construction and serves as a primary technical resource on major industrial electrical projects.

You will review contract requirements, develop job-specific plans, manage daily reports, take-offs, and coordinate with purchasing and design engineers to solve field issues. This role emphasizes safety, schedule discipline, and proactive problem solving to deliver projects successfully.

Qualifications

• Superior computer operating skills and willingness to implement new technologies in construction.
• Creative problem-solver with process improvement ideas.
• Clear communication with project staff and management.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Supervisory experience a plus.
• BS/BA in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Design; relevant construction work experience considered.
• 1–3 years of related construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Review contract requirements with emphasis on construction documents and change orders.
• Develop and implement job-specific safety, scheduling, and document-control plans.
• Maintain daily reports, RFI's, timesheets, and purchasing documents.
• Perform material take-offs and coordinate submittals with Purchasing.
• Design and layout raceway and cable tray systems using CAD and 3-D modeling.
• Plan cable pulling sequences and calculate tensions.
• Manage project management tools and generate progress reports.
• Resolve field installation issues with design engineers and coordinate with contractors.
• Track installation progress and ensure compliance with project specs and Quality Plan.
• Support customer relations and project scheduling to ensure on-time delivery.
