Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Field Engineer to act as a primary technical resource for major industrial electrical construction projects.

You will support contract administration, safety planning, and field execution on site. Responsibilities include supervising field operations, coordinating with customers and engineers, producing reports, and ensuring alignment with project quality plans.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, written and verbal, to coordinate with project staff and management.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to field challenges.
• Proven organizational ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Review contract requirements and administer construction documents, field orders, change orders, and close-out docs.
• Develop and implement job-specific plans for safety, scheduling, document control, cost codes, materials, and tooling.
• Maintain daily field reports, journals, RFIs, and other project paperwork and ensure proper routing.
• Coordinate material take-offs and submittals with Purchasing and site teams to ensure timely release of procured equipment.
• Design/layout raceway and cable tray systems using CAD tools and modeling software.
• Plan cable pulling activities and calculate tensions to ensure safe execution.
• Manage MJE’s Envelope System for work-tracking and report generation.
• Collaborate with design engineers and other contractors to resolve field installation issues.
