Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an early-career estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information for construction bids. The role involves interpreting drawings, supporting job controls, and preparing quantity take-offs and cost data to ensure compliance with specifications and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering or related degree with up to two years of estimating or field support experience, plus proficiency in MS Office and AGTEK Take-off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Ability to interpret drawings and quantify materials accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Prepare documentation records and sketches for estimates, bids, and material calculations.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs per hour, and equipment for estimates.
