Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an experienced engineer to provide technical estimating support and cost information for construction projects. The role requires interpreting designs, coordinating with on-site teams, and ensuring adherence to contracts, budgets, and schedules.

You will prepare documentation, assist with take-offs and material controls, and help develop accurate estimates and bids while maintaining safety and quality standards. Strong MS Office and AGTEK skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of estimating, engineering, or field support experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and take-off software; AGTEK experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research resolutions to drawing interpretation problems and ensure work complies with codes and specs.
• Prepare documentation such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations for accurate bids and records.
• Provide technical direction regarding project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
