Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a capable cost-estimating professional to deliver technical engineering and cost guidance for construction projects. You will ensure adherence to engineering standards while collaborating with on-site teams to keep schedules and budgets on track.

This role requires interpreting drawings, preparing take-offs, and maintaining accurate documentation. Strong MS Office and AGTEK Take-off skills, plus field support experience, are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field or equivalent training/experience.
• 2+ years in construction estimating support, engineering, or field support.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AGTEK Take-off software; knowledge of drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure contract, budget, schedule and costing alignment.
• Interpret drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support the project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to ensure code and spec compliance.
• Prepare documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support for project material controls to minimize extra costs.
• Prepare sketches and drawings to support change orders and estimates.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs, material lists, and labor/equipment costs.
