Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the on-site management of home construction communities.

You will help schedule and supervise subcontractors, ensure quality, manage costs, perform homeowner walk-throughs, and uphold safety standards. This role requires a high school diploma (GED), 6 months to 2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among construction sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to ensure workmanship quality and adherence to plans and schedules.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner sign-off to ensure quality and address items.
• Conduct homeowner orientations and additional walks for satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, and cost control.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance with standards.
• Maintain site cleanliness and prevent trash/waste on communities and jobsites.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage and theft.
• Support construction schedule and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Provide superior customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge of building codes, materials, and scheduling.
