Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the site team in managing community construction, scheduling, and quality control. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and collaboration with subcontractors to deliver quality homes.

The ideal candidate will assist in inspections, maintain standards, and help manage costs while ensuring timely, on-budget completion across communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive between sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and create a systematic approach.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to ensure workmanship quality and plan conformance.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walkthroughs and closings to ensure readiness.
• Assist in managing subcontractors with quality, safety, scheduling and cost control.
• Enforce site safety programs and DR Horton cleanliness standards on all sites.
• Support construction schedule to deliver quality homes on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service during all stages of construction.
