Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent in NW Indiana.

You will help manage the community job site, supervise subcontractors, ensure quality, safety, and budget adherence, and provide strong customer service through all phases of construction. The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 2 years of related construction experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and be willing to drive among construction sites in daytime and nighttime.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Require minimum supervision and ability to create a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
• Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to assure the quality of workmanship and adherence to schedule.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Walk each completed home before homeowner walk-through and closing sign-off to ensure completion and quality.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent to manage subcontractors and monitor quality, safety, and cost.
• Enforce safety programs and site cleanliness standards.
• Support construction schedule and ensure timely delivery within budget.
• Provide excellent customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
