Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II on the NATCAT National Catastrophe team. This field-based role travels up to 80% to catastrophe zones, assesses property damage, evaluates coverage, and guides policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

You will own the full lifecycle of moderate to severe property claims, write estimates with Xactimate, coordinate with Special Investigations and Subrogation, and provide proactive updates to customers while

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent claims experience.
• Experience with catastrophe (CAT) claims handling.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and claim writing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using tools like Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Special Investigations, Subrogation as needed.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards while ensuring timely resolutions.
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process.
