Job summary

Nationwide's National Catastrophe Property team is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II to support Personal Lines nationwide. This role requires field presence, travel up to 80%, and hands-on claims experience in catastrophe environments.

You'll inspect properties, determine coverage, write estimates in Xactimate, and manage the full lifecycle of complex claims while delivering exceptional customer service in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related property claims experience or comparable job‑related experience, or education preferred.
• Experience in a customer service environment, including flexible work schedules and extended work hours preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance theory and practices, property estimating, and automated claims systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process
