Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II for the National Catastrophe Property team. You will travel nationwide to assess damage, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy.

Expect field deployments, often on short notice, with up to 80% travel. You will work in CAT environments, handling complex claims from start to finish while collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of related property claims experience or comparable job-related experience, or education preferred.
• State licensing where required; claims certification schools or classes; Xactimate Level 1/2 certifications listed as development goals.

Responsibilities

• Handle assigned claims promptly and effectively with little direction.
• Determine coverages and apply claims practices to resolve cases per guidelines.
• Open, close, and adjust reserves; manage file conferencing and authority procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of repairs, pricing, and local market procedures.
• Lead or support Subrogation and Special Investigations to identify fraud.
• Provide proactive customer updates and deliver outstanding service.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
