Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a field-based sales professional to execute brand strategy, manage territory, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short and long term performance while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct.

Candidates should reside within a reasonable distance of the primary city and have relevant pharmaceutical sales experience; travel is expected as part of territory coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
• Five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required
• Proven track record of leadership and solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and use of business tools
• Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approaches; operates well in a matrix environment
• Preferred: success in sales within respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed care or marketing preferred
• Preferred: HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting

Responsibilities

• Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
• Create pre-call plan objectives and evaluate post-call to improve performance; handle objections and gain calls to action to close.
• Build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
• Develop and execute a call plan achieving set metrics and optimize coverage to key customers.
• Share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors and dynamics with in-field team and brand team.
• Differentiate AbbVie’s value and identify disease state experts to maximize brand performance
