Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer on the SMIT contract to support BAN/LAN/WAN operations, incident response, COMSEC, and network modernization for NMCI environments. You will lead a technical team, coordinate with the government KOAMs, and ensure secure, reliable communications for Navy customers.

Qualifications include DoD clearance, DoD 8570 IAT II, CCNA/CCNP or higher, and 5+ years in routing/switching. Occasional travel up to 25% (OCONUS possible) is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 4+ years of relevant experience or MS/MBA with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required prior to onboarding.
• Must possess Network Vendor Associate Level or higher Certification (Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• Working knowledge of defense-in-depth, network security architecture and related IT devices.
• Willingness to be scheduled for off-hours/weekends; travel up to 25%, possible OCONUS.
• 5+ years’ experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching.

Responsibilities

• Works as an Operations-focused Network Engineer on BAN/LAN/WAN operations and related troubleshooting.
• Provides COMSEC Local Element support, hardware/software asset management, and key inventories.
• Documents work activities and maintains site documentation.
• Initiates software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system and network infra.
• Performs maintenance, repair and replacement of faulty hardware per SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Interfaces with NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Supports configuration/asset management and keeps network documentation up to date.
