Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer for the SMIT contract to lead BAN/LAN/WAN operations, troubleshoot complex networks, and manage COMSEC assets across NMCI-related environments. The role requires coordinating with customers and providing incident response in a dynamic DoD setting.

Applicants should have DoD clearance, IAT II certification, and 5+ years in network engineering, with travel as needed to support mission-critical tasks.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MS/MBA with relevant IT experience.
• DOD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT II certs required (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CISA).
• Network vendor certs (CCNA/CCNP) or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead BAN/LAN/WAN operations, troubleshoot and repair network tech.
• Coordinate COMSEC support, assets, and key inventories.
• Document activities with established tools; maintain site docs.
• Initiate software upgrades and changes to NGEN-R systems.
• Perform hardware maintenance and repair following SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Interface with NOC for incident restoration and support.
